The Next to Die?

Our family's Red Plate traditionally goes to the the person celebrating a special occasion. However, when we are celebrating a holiday, the plate goes to the oldest family member present or every once in a while the youngest. My husband got the Red Plate this past Christmas shortly after my Mom passed away. He remarked that you don't want to get the Red Plate because it meant that you were the next to die. Strange sense of humor!!!
